Crashing 2016

We didn’t wait for 2016 to come to us. We lurched into 2016 somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean. Entering another time zone, one moment it was 1142 on 31 December, the next it was 0042 on 1 January. We landed in Madrid on  the morning of the New Year’s Day. True to a famous musical number, it was raining on the plain.

We missed practically all the nice winter weather back in San Antonio for the month of January, hitting Spain’s southeast coast in four places, plus Córdoba, Sevilla and Cádiz. Here are some highlights:

Nearly four weeks on the go nearly put us under. The month of February was mostly crash time. Come March, and our major adventure was ditching cable TV and going to Internet TV. I posted a story about it.

The Tie That Binds

The peace and quiet ended on 12 April. In the middle of the night the sound of thunder was monstrous hailstones pounding on our roof. The tale of dealing with the insurance company made another movie and also some videos.

Hail Tragedy of 2016

Hot summer in San Antonio, surprise, surprise! Came fall, and it was time to get out of town. Our niece, daughter of my sister, finished up a long service in the Air Force and retired in September. This had  the appearance of a great excuse to take a driving trip. Here are some links.

About John Blanton

I'm a retired engineer living in San Antonio, Texas. I have served in the Navy, raced motorcycles, taken scads of photos and am usually a nice guy. I have political and religious opinions, and these opinions tend to be driven by an excess of observed stupidity. Gross stupidity is the supposed target of many of my posts.
